How to Optimize your website for search engines

Here are a few simple ideas to help Google understand your site and direct visitors to it.

Use accurate, descriptive titles for your pages.- We recommend putting different topics, products, or services on different pages, with one topic (or closely related set of items) per page.

Complete the following: Mention everything you have to offer. Google is smart, but we can’t guess what you don’t tell us.

Be detailed: Make a point of mentioning everything you have to offer. Google is intelligent, but we can’t guess what you don’t tell us.

Keep it current: Update your content to reflect seasonal changes, trends, or new offerings. For example, if you own an ice cream shop that also sells hot chocolate, make sure to highlight your ice cream in the summer and your hot chocolate (or coffee, or sandwiches) in the winter, when people aren’t looking for ice cream shops. If kiwi ice cream becomes popular and you have it in your store, promote it prominently.

Use text: Don’t put your site’s content or page titles solely in images, video, animations, or other non-text formats that Google doesn’t understand as well as text. If you use a graphic for your site’s name, make sure to include it in the page text as well.
Get referrals: Have your website mentioned in useful places on the internet. See if you can gain access to your local online news sites or any other relevant resources.
